Head Lice Notice
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We have been made aware of a case of head lice (nits) at school. Head lice are a common issue among school-aged children and are not related to cleanliness or hygiene.
We ask that you please check your child's hair and scalp carefully over the next few days. Pay particular attention to the area behind the ears and around the nape of the neck, where lice and eggs (nits) are often found.
If you discover that your child has head lice, please begin treatment as soon as possible and remove any eggs according to the instructions provided with the treatment product. Children can return to school once treatment has been started.
Regular checking at home helps prevent the spread of head lice within our classroom community. Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping us manage this issue.
If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Kind regards
Totara College Staff

Hi Parents and Caregivers
We are so excited to share that on 18 June, our school choir will be participating in The Big Sing Choral Festival at the Regent Theatre in Palmerston North! This is a wonderful milestone for Totara College, as it marks our first time entering this nationwide secondary schools festival. We will be performing and competing alongside choirs from across the Tararua, Manawatū, Whanganui, and Horowhenua regions.
The Gala Concert is at 7:00 pm. Family and friends are very welcome to attend; please see the attached details for more information.
Kia Ora Whānau,
As that time of year is drawing near again, we're ramping up preparations for this year's 40-hour Challenge! This year we're attempting to get as many people as possible to sign up online. It's quick, easy, and World Vision provides a default piece of text if you don't wish to customise it.
It requires parents/caregivers to be aware of their child signing up. When your child signs up online, they'll fill in either your phone number or email, so World Vision can send you a notification that they've signed up online. We understand that parents/caregivers may want to be a part of this process and that younger students may require assistance, so the sign-up link is being sent out digitally for those not already signed up. When your child has signed up using the link below, they can come to me at school and receive a 40-hour Challenge bracelet for doing so! ☺️
