The primary aim and objective of Totara College is to help young people develop and learn who they are, and the unique contribution they can make to society. We focus on values and developing good character. As a Christian school, we also teach the students about the God who loves them. We appoint staff who have a vision and commitment to equipping children for life and who, by reason of their own Christian testimony and character, can be effective role models to those in their charge.

The assistant principal role is new in the school and reflects the direction to give a modern, broad and effective secondary education with emphasis on student direction and vocation and interfacing with outside providers/employers.
