Student Leadership

The purpose for having student leaders in the school are two fold:

  1. To give the students various authorities in the school
  2. To teach student leaders how to lead, what it means, how to organise events, how to speak publically etc. This is a critical part of learning for young people growing up and hence the appointment to be a student leader is one with responsibilities and significant learning and opportunities attached.

The school has two main tiers of student leadership, both of which are appointed at the beginning of the school year:

  • School Leaders
  • House group Leaders

The school leaders are involved with leading whole school events and are role models for the younger students.

School leaders would normally oversee a number of events such as internal school sports competitions, Fund raising activities such as the 40H challenge with World Vision, running specialty classes for students e.g. IT lessons, jump jam etc (depending on the personal passions of the leaders), public speaking at assemblies and external events.

House group leaders are specifically involved with organising the House group competition and leading their House to challenge for the House shield at the end of the year. Often the two groups will work together.
